President
Chris Herrmann
Chris became a director of ITPA having been a member of ITPA and SAGE-AU for many years. He has over 20 years experience in IT, starting an IT consultancy whilst at University. He is still running this consultancy, working in fields as diverse as manufacturing, biotech, financial services, health and the not-for-profit sectors. He's loves working with people and technology and is an advocate for improving transparency and ethical considerations around technology.
Vice President
Paul McInerney
Paul became a Director of SAGE-AU in 2013 and apart from general directorship duties, also provides system administration support for the association. Paul has been working in IT since the late '90s and has a wealth of experience working in various IT roles from Desktop Support through to Enterprise Systems Administration.
Paul is currently employed at the University of Sydney, where he manages the IT and Engineering needs for one of the largest medical research schools in Australia. He has extensive experience with delivering IT solutions in a higher educational environment and has also dabbled as a consultant in the private sector.
Secretary
Sean Bates
Sean holds over 15 years' experience identifying and implementing technological solutions and strategies that empower business growth.
Sean has been responsible for advising, guiding and implementing IT strategy, architecture, project and change management for a variety of organizations across various sectors including retail, government, energy, finance, automotive, construction and education.
Sean is an advocate of lifelong learning and holds an MBA and Graduate Diploma in Project Management from Charles Sturt University. Technically competent, his business qualifications are complemented by certifications in ITIL, Prince2, as a Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) and Cisco CCNA/CCNP.
Sean joined the ITPA board in 2017.
Treasurer
James Andrewartha
James became a director of ITPA having been a member of SAGE-AU since 2010 and also provides system administration support for the association. He is an infrastructure engineer for an independent private school and has previous experience in systems administrator and internet support roles.
He was on the organising committee of linux.conf.au 2003, and spent many years on the committee and sysadmin team (wheel) of the University Computer Club at UWA, for which he was awarded honorary life membership in 2010.
